Call for Papers: Forum Kritika on Historical Dialogue

 

This Forum Kritika seeks to understand how the term “historical dialogue” is used in different disciplines (e.g., political science, history, theology, literary studies, cultural studies, etc.), and what the relationship is between “historical dialogue” and certain regions or discursive environments. Other possible topics can consider the relationship between the concept of “historical dialogue” and its connection or intersection with terms such as transitional justice, memory studies, peace building, or conflict resolution. Kritika Kultura is calling for papers which aim to (re)interpret the Joaquinian archive, rereading his more popular works through new critical lenses, analyzing and juxtaposing multidirectional, multimodal, and diverging aspects of his work, and, last but not the least, examining his global influence in terms of circulation and translation, inquiring into the politics and material underpinnings which condition Joaquin’s international reach. Deadline is on Dec. 31, 2016.

Kritika Kultura will institute a Review Essays section starting with its February 2013 issue. The Review Essay is a time-honored feature of the most consequential journals across the disciplines; after a decade of continuous operation as well as accreditation by important academic indexes, Kritika Kultura aims to make it a regular section of the journal. Equivalent in standing and substance to the regular academic article, the Review Essay is either commissioned directly from scholars in the pertinent academic field/s, or undertaken independently and submitted by them, for publication in the journal.
